Set goals and stick to your plans to achieve success.
So, we’re a month into summer vacation. In my last blog I told you of my plans to keep the kids occupied and continue to work. I’m considering my effort successful at this point. We did have one week of family vacation in there were I wasn’t trying to focus on work. But the rest of the time we’ve juggled the schedule a bit. I learned that success results from setting realistic goals and sticking to my commitments. My goals were (1) keep the kids occupied in some way whether at home or playing with friends or taking them out. (2) Get work done. I stuck with my commitment even though some days were a challenge.
That principle applies to many other areas of our lives. For example exercise and weight loss. Most of us have to, from time to time, shed a few pounds. It can be overwhelming if you feel panicked by the approach of say- swimsuit season. We’ve heard it over and over. Set a realistic goal and stick to your plan. Eventually you’ll reach your target weight. I can go on with examples, but you get the idea. I found myself this week quoting this adage to my sister, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”
I encourage you to set sensible goals when facing a task and be committed to making it work. Smart Moms Online is all about helping you achieve work/life balance.
